BURN CIC is a membership based not-for-profit organisation which exists to tackle the persistent racial inequalities that impact people of African descent in Greater Manchester and the north through growing the number of Black leaders in senior decision making positions, developing Black businesses to become contract and export ready, and growing trade links with Africa and the Caribbean.

We exist to make the North of England the best place in the UK for black people to work, for black-owned businesses to thrive, and for enterprise, charities and the public sector to drive meaningful change on race.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Client Relations Manager to join us on a full time (37 hours per week) basis.

Job purpose

As a Client Relations Manager you will be responsible for the development and management of key strategic relationships. The role focuses on developing and growing local & national relationships with new & existing BURN members and partners, understanding their requirements and promoting BURN services.

You will work closely with BURN team members to identify opportunities to establish relationships with prospective clients. You will generate interest in BURN’s product and services with these clients, seeking to increase partnerships across specialist business sectors.

You will work together with existing clients to devise strategies to overcome any challenges their business may face whether as a black business looking to move to the next level or as a company looking to trade with local, diverse businesses.

You will highlight the role BURN can play to help them accomplish their goals and you will use our communications channels to publicise our activities and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

You are required to:-

  • Grow BURN’s client base by identifying new, potential businesses and extol the benefits of our company offer in helping to grow their business.
  • Develop innovative ways and marketing materials to communicate new activities and services to existing and potential clients
  • Learn the needs of clients and develop plans to meet them
  • Generate new opportunities through engagement with potential clients face-to-face and online
  • Keep self up to date with the latest innovations and techniques in client relation management
  • Establish and maintain realistic and achievable goals for business and revenue growth
  • Develop proposals for prospective clients
  • Manage client expectations whilst maintaining their enthusiasm of the BURN offer
  • Address client concerns and work with colleagues to resolve them
  • Manage the contract relationship with the client ensuring mutual benefit and satisfaction

You must have:-

  • Demonstrable verbal and communication skills to call, email and meet with clients
  • Excellent negotiation skills to manage client presenting clients with a contract and establishing terms
  • Experience of working in a small, high-performing team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • A good overview of business planning and business development strategies
  • The confidence to work on your own initiative
  • A can-do attitude
  • Basic technical computer and social media skills
