DR MARILYN COMRIE OBE FRSA
Award-winning serial entrepreneur, international trade specialist and green tech innovator working in the field of zero emission vehicle propulsion systems who is working to widen participation of marginalised groups in the green tech revolution in order to develop the homegrown talent needed to combat climate change.
A qualified international leadership coach and business mentor, Marilyn has been a lifelong campaigner for social justice. Her determination, persistence and Northern grit, has earned her a formidable reputation as a transformational leader, influencer and change agent.
She has successfully lobbied the Metro Mayor to set up a race panel to address persistent racial inequalities in Greater Manchester. She developed and honed her leadership skills managing large scale, high profile operations within the media sector. This progressive seventeen-year career included several senior management roles within major plc organisations where she earned a reputation for transforming multi-million-pound projects from underachievement into unquestionable success stories.
Marilyn was honoured by HRH The Queen with an OBE for services to woman’s enterprise in 2009, awarded the Kofi Annan African Leadership Excellence Award for her trade & investment activities in Africa, and an honorary doctorate by Birmingham University in 2018
