New Reporting Metrics which came into place in January 2021, have imposed a mandatory requirement for tender winners to evidence social value impacts. This includes reporting on what they have done to diversify their supply chains.
Social value commissioning is growing. Starting in January 2021, government departments will ring fence 10% of their procurement spend for SMEs and the Third Sector (VCSEs). Research from the Social Value Portal shows Black business and VCSE involvement in procurement within Greater Manchester is negligible.
